Who am I?

I have been physically active from a very young age thanks to my Father, started swimming competitively by the age of 6,  and competed internationally in 3 almost 4 different sports, was competitive in a couple of others at a high level- coached participants in several-including squash, karate, swimming and now Golf (my son wants to be number one in the World- he is currently no.2 in Canada, no. 1 in Ontario in Golf Canada Skills Events and 2 years running Jr Club Champion at Bushwood)- and btw was a personal trainer for a few years too! I am also a very over-certified CPR and First Aid instructor for humans AND pets!

My ‘claim to fame’ is that I trained myself and others with a view as to the long term impact on the body, not just the short term goals. (Here’s a confession for you- at one stage when trying to decide whether to take the next step to start competing  in body building competitions- I was taking 22 tablets a meal, eating 6 meals a day!)

I only relate my ‘bio’ as it were to you, to say that I have had a long road of exercise related activity and subsequently made lots of errors listening to ‘experts’.

What inspired me to write this blog is the recognition that there is a lot of confusion about basic healthy living and sports performance. With the  influx of dietary aids, access to ‘new’ technologies, health and wellness should have become easier instead of more difficult. However when you factor in our busy lives, our focus is not always on PROPER habits, rather quick fixes!

So here, as with everything I write, I will simplify and make understanding and implementation incredibly easy! I welcome all questions and suggestions, always, so email me if you would like me to write about a particular topic, So let’s get started on this journey, together!
